The New Thomas County Architecture Book

The Thomas County Historical Society and Landmarks are collaborating on a wonderful new book featuring the history and architecture of Thomasville and Thomas County. Renowned author William R. Mitchell, Jr., whose first book was Landmarks: The Architecture of Thomasville and Thomas County, Georgia (1980), and photographer/publisher Van Jones Martin have been collecting material and photographs for the past year.

With an anticipated publication date in the Fall of 2013, "The Book" will be 248 pages and feature color photographs of the interiors and exteriors of some of our most beautiful, interesting and historic homes, neighborhoods, and plantations. Commissioned to celebrate the unique and fascinating history of Thomasville and its environs, it will combine a fresh, entertaining and scholarly text with hundreds of historic and newly created photographs.

This will be a well-deserved salute to those who have built, loved and preserved this special part of America and is sure to be an eye-opening delight for people unfamiliar with its charms. We anticipate that this book will be a premier resource for promoting our community.

Please consider being an Underwriter for this project. As an Underwriter you will be prominently acknowledged on one of the first pages of the book, demonstrating your commitment to preserving and promoting Thomas County's heritage.
