All of our programs are free and can be
adapted to meet the needs of any group!

Protecting, preserving and promoting the architecture, heritage and
history of Thomasville and the Thomas County area.

Box City - Students learn the principles of urban
planning and how historic preservation can play a
role in good urban design.
Appropriate for all ages.

Slide Presentations
- Students engage in an
interactive photographic presentation that helps
them learn to read the built environment.  Students
learn new vocabulary and architectural details and
styles.  They also learn how to look at a photo and
estimate the date the photo was taken.  
Appropriate for all ages

Downtown Scavenger Hunt -
Students apply
what they have learned in the slide presentations
to a downtown Architectural Details Scavenger
Hunt.
Appropriate for students K-6

Heritage Education Teachers Workshop -       
This week-long workshop offers teachers and
paraprofessionals the opportunity to learn how to
use historic resources in the classroom to teach
math, reading, science and art. Teachers earn 3
PLUs for participating in this free program, which is
funded by the Georgia Humanities Council.
Open to all Grade Levels and Subjects
