Historic Markers Program - In order to help bring public awareness about historic buildings
in Thomasville, Landmarks started its Historic Markers Program. If your house or business is
50 years old or older and has the majority of its original building material, you may be eligible
for a historic marker. Our Plaques are hand painted and include the historic name and date
of construction of the property.

Annual Preservation Honor Awards - Each year we present Preservation Awards to
deserving individuals and projects at our Annual Meeting in January. These awards recognize
current preservation projects in Thomas County. The award for Contributing Addition to
the Community highlights new construction, landscaping or other projects that are not historic
but that contribute to the historic character of Thomasville. The Award of Merit seeks to
recognize important community preservation that ranges from painting to extensive
restoration. The Outstanding Achievement Award is our highest honor and is bestowed
on preservation work that makes an extrordinary impact on the community.
To nominate a worthy project, send us an email with the following information:
