Woodson-Dekle House - SOLD!
The circa 1855 Woodson-Dekle House is getting
a new lease on life from its new owner!
The ca. 1855 Woodson-Dekle House,
was the last house saved through the
Revolving Fund. It and the site were
donated to Landmarks, which
stabilized the house by restoring the
roof, windows and doors on the front
and sides, interior chimneys and
fireplaces and front porch. All four
wood-burning fireplaces are functional.
The new owner, Stanley F. Smith,
Architect, located his offices to the
house in Fall 2007. He converted the
attic into two rooms, a bathroom and
closets. From a rear room, he created
a kitchen and bath downstairs. He
preserved much of the original historic
material by re-using it throughout the
restoration. Rather than taking out
material, he retained it in a state of
"arrested decay" and, in turn, created
an attractive showplace for both his
work and the historic structure in which
he works.

donation of a structure or land, cash or
stock, please contact our office.
