Organizational Consulting

Thomasville Landmarks supports preservation in Thomasville and the Thomas County area. We will assist any non-profit group or community organization that has historic sites, properties or resources. In the past, we have assisted churches in the writing of work plans. We have worked with small community groups that are preserving our rural cemeteries and landscapes. We have conducted workshops and training for towns wanting to establish local and national register districts. These services are offered on a sliding scale to churches and other non-profit organizations.

Thomasville Landmarks works with owners of historic homes and other buildings. Consultation is free to homeowners within local historic districts, of which Thomasville has five.

The Rural Heritage Initiative kicked off in 2008 with a seed grant. The Initiative is aimed at educating residents and business owners within Thomas County’s six municipalities about the importance of preservation in planning for future development and preserving their heritage.
